Fall is just starting to turn the air chilly. The trees are beginning to change colors as the nights slowly grow colder and longer. As time marches towards winter, frost will begin to appear in the mornings and the lake will slowly start freezing over. Predictions say this will be a hard winter, which is a good thing, Thread will not ravage the surface this winter but instead fall as harmless black dust onto the ground.
Threadfall:
Falling once or twice a week, the menace has returned to plague Telgar.
The Red Star:
Still visible it has reached the midway point for the pass.
The Weyrs:
Telgar is officially open for business. The Weyr is slowly filling up with riders and personnel and will be taking on its new responsibilities within the month. A council of Goldriders and Wingleaders rule the Weyr until such time as the first Mating Flight takes place and determines who the Weyrwoman and her consort will be.
The College:
Classes have resumed for the year at Fort Hold. With Weyrs going on search for the year's Candidate base, the teachers are not happy. Rumor has it they are even turning some Weyrs' dragons away.
The Holds:
Still struggling, the people living in the Holds are hoping for a break from the monotonous work day while still going about their usual task of trying to improve their surroundings and quality of life.
OOC News:

Wing & Staff Rosters A listing of names and dragons that fly in each Wing along with those who staff the Weyr. Find out who your Wingmates are so you can rp with them.
The Weyr Bowl The Weyr Bowl lies in the mouth of the huge volcano that makes up Telgar Weyr. This is where Wings assemble and most outdoor work is done. It is large enough to group at least three whole Wings together at once.
The Weyr Hall The main gathering place of the Weyr. It is large enough to fit almost 3/4 of the Weyrs population comfortably and is where Riders and Weyrfolk alike come to relax, talk and eat. The kitchen staff can serve you your food or you can choose to get it yourself. Opposite of the great entrance doors, the Hall is connected to the kitchens on the far end which in turn is connected to the Lower Caverns and a smaller Weyr Bowl door.
The Infirmary Located next to the Weyr Bowl entrance of the Lower Caverns, this too has a regular Bowl entrance as well as a huge cavern for whatever dragon patients it may have. The Dragonhealers and Healers share this facility. There is an intensive care unit close to the offices of the various Masters and Journeymen. Also within the facility are many store rooms full of various herbs, potions, powders, bandages, and other Healing supplies along with the everlasting smell of pungent numbweed.

The Rider's Weyrs While most weyrs have been finished, most blue and greenriders are currently bunking with someone else as they wait for their weyrs to be finished. Every Rider has a cliff-face weyr. The bigger outside ledges belong to Bronzers. Each weyr has a couch for the dragon in the cave connecting to the ledge. A doorway just wide enough for a dragon to poke its head through leads off the dragon's cave into the Rider's personal quarters. It is a simple, one room loft that contains their belongings and maybe a little dry food in the cupboards. Only the Goldriders and Weyrleader are lucky enough to have a private bath, access to the ground by foot, and a separate living room. A few family weyrs are available.

The Weyrling Quarters This was the second most time consuming and difficult part of the Weyr to create. Almost equidistant from the lake and the feeding grounds, one enters it via the mouth of a huge tunnel. The tunnel goes back into the rock-face for a few dozen yards before splitting off into six different similar sized hallways. Off of the hallways are dragon sized archways. Each leads to a separate, if not entirely private, room for every individual pair of new riders. Each room has a wallow or couch for the dragon, a bed for the rider, a dresser and a chest. In the middle of the tunnel system are the classrooms and a gather area for the human half of the pair. Moderator: babypepper
The Candidate Barracks Located close to the Hatching Sands, it is a less than ideal living area. There is a decent sized common room for the Candidates to socialize in but the living conditions are cramped to say the least.

The Hatching Sands The heart of the Weyr, this is where all the future generations of Telgar's dragons will be clutched and hatched. Filled with golden sand, it is heated by the distant core of the volcano, exactly as the baths are. Anyone planning on spending a decent period of time here should plan on wearing thick-soled boots.
The South Restricted, at least in the eyes of the Holders, the riders still follow Sean's example and hunt and gather here.
